Technical Building Code (C.T.E.)

Since 1973 providing top engineering services

The Spanish Government approved the Technical Building Code with the purpose to improve the quality and promote innovation and sustainability of buildins.

The Technical Building Code is the regulatory framework for regulating the quality Basic Requirements to be met by buildings, including their facilities to meet the basic requirements of safety and habitability.

It consists of the following parts:

  1. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  2. BASIC DOCUMENTS
BASIC REQUIREMENTS

(SE) Structural Safety

Ensure the building has an accurate structural behaviour against foreseeable actions and influences subjected during construction and intended use.

(SI) Fire Protection

Reduce to acceptable limits the risk for buildings users who could suffer damage caused by a fire of accidental origin, due to the characteristics of their design, construction, use and maintenance.

(SU) Safety of Utilization

Reduce the risk to acceptable limits for users who could suffer immediate damaged during the expected use of the buildings, due to the characteristics of their design, construction, use and maintenance.

(HS) Health Regulations

Reduce the acceptable limits the risk, inside buildings and under regular conditions of use, for users who could suffer discomfort or illness, as well as the risk that the buildings are deteriorated spoiling the environment as a result of the features of their design, construction, use and maintenance.

(HR) Noise Protection

Limit, inside buildings and under regular conditions of use, the risk of discomfort or illness which noise can produce to users, as a result of the features of their design, construction, use and maintenance.

(HE) Energy Saving

Get a rational use of the necessaryy energy for the use of buildings, reducing their consumption to sustainable limits and also get a portion of this consumption comes from renewable energy sources as a result of the characteristics of their design, construction, use and maintenance.
